Participate in StorPool’s sessions at the CCCollab2023:

Venko Moyankov, Solutions Architect at StorPool, will host the workshop “Backup and Disaster Recovery with CloudStack and StorPool” on November 23 at 5:10 p.m. CET. The workshop will show attendees how to build a cloud using Apache CloudStack and StorPool storage as a primary storage solution that also features disaster recovery capabilities and off-site backups. Moyankov will present a reference architecture of the solution followed by a live demonstration on how to set backup policies, backup virtual machines, and recover VMs in a site-down event. The workshop will allow an open discussion about the practical aspects of how to implement a DR service, the difficulties of building such solutions, and how to address them.

StorPool Product Lead Alex Ivanov will present “Extending KVM Host HA for Non-NFS Storage” on November 24 at 3:50 p.m. CET. He will discuss how StorPool extends the high availability feature to allow other methods to be used as alternatives with the KVM Host HA feature, which depends on the existence of NFS primary storage even if other types of primary storage is used. The new implementation adds support for using StorPool Storage for HA heartbeats, removing the need for NFS primary storage, and allows other storage vendors and protocols to be easily added. Ivanov also joins the “Project Sustainability and Vendor Contributions in an Apache Governance Model” panel at 2:30 p.m. CET on November 24.
